Fabric signs and symbols
The museum’s collection includes over 550 pieces, mostly from the 20th century, from around the world: national flags, labarums, ties, banners, signal flags, scarves, Vivatbänder. The variety is wide: from huge flags used on buildings to pocket handkerchiefs.
Of notable historical interest are the colonial relics, the flags used in the First World War, the pennants referable to the Fiuman enterprise and some flags used during the Second World War.
The museum also preserves an important collection of bands from the Ascari battalions in the service of the Royal Army in the African colonies.
